During the SAS 9.2 (TS 1M0) installation, SAS prompts you to provide a SAS Home location, which is the folder where SAS 9.2 (TS 1M0) will be installed. If you change from the default folder to an existing folder that contains any files or folders, then the following message is displayed:

The SAS Home location specified contains existing files that may be overwritten during installation.
Would you like to proceed anyway?
    Yes   No

The warning is intended to notify you that the installation process will copy files to this location. The installation does not check for specific file names or folders in this location. The installation only checks for the existance of a file or folder.

If SAS 9.1 is installed to the SAS Home location provided, the SAS 9.2 installation will not overwrite the SAS 9.1 files. If SAS 9.2 files exist, then the SAS 9.2 installation will overwrite the files.

For SAS 9.2 (TS 2M0), the following message is displayed:

SAS Deployment Wizard

The SAS Home location specified contains existing files. While SAS software,    
such as SAS Foundation or SAS clients from earlier releases, will not be        
affected, proceeding with the installation will overwrite any products of the   
exact same version you are attempting to install.  Do you want to continue?    
   Yes   No
